Jude Bellingham is now world’s most-expensive 17-year-old as he joins Borussia Dortmund in a £25m deal

Borussia Dortmund announced Jude Bellingham’s signing in a £25million contract from Birmingham.

The English footballer, who plays as a midfielder, is currently the most expensive 17-year-old in the world, following his contract with the German club.

The giants of the Bundesliga confirmed the capture in a social media post showing several players welcoming the new addition by signing with the famous hit Hey Jude Beatles.

Sporting director of Dortmund, Michael Zorc, has expressed his satisfaction with the signing, saying:

‘Jude Bellingham wanted to start his career at Borussia Dortmund with utter confidence. The primary reason behind his decision was the opportunities we could give him on pitch.

‘He has enormous potential which we will continue to grow with him in the years to come. For and without the ball, he already boasts outstanding consistency, and has a good attitude to boot.

‘Jude will improve our first-team squad instantly, but we will definitely give him all the time he needs to adapt to the higher level of play.’

Bellingham, after joining the Bundesliga team, disclosed his excitement in a tweet, and thanked his former club where he started off his career.

‘I can’t give enough thanks to Birmingham City for what they’ve done for me, not only this season but since the age of seven,’ he said.

‘Of course I wish nothing but the best for anyone affiliated with the club. Once a blue, always a blue. I’m extremely excited though to join one of Europe’s biggest clubs.

‘The direction they ‘re going in and how much they’re helping young players grow made it a fan when they’re back in one of the world’s most magnificent stadiums – ideally as an convenient choice for me and my family. I can’t wait to play as soon as possible against more than 80,000!
