The artist declared that he was running for the presidency folks are still unconvinced that he is serious even after filing the requisite paperwork to enter the race.

The rapper came under the public spotlight once more after launching his presidential campaign with a lengthy controversial address. Kanye commented on issues like morality, abortion and foreign trade.

Kanye spoke about how the slaves were never really freed by Harriet Tubman, a historical figure, she only made them work for other white men. Tubman is among America’s most admired female figures of the 19th century.

A slavery-fleeing African American, she helped enslaved Black men and women move north to freedom and fought for the Union during the Civil War. Later, she became a women’s suffrage advocate.

Speaking about abortion, he said he believed that legal, financial incentives could be a way to prevent the procedure by supporting mothers suffering. He listed how his first daughter North West nearly aborted in 2013 and how his father also nearly aborted her.

In his words: “Kanye West should not have been there, because my father was too busy. I almost killed my daughter, even though after this speech my wife would divorce me, she brought North into the world, even though I didn’t want to.
