Ogun Gov appoints Laycon “youth ambassador” with bungalow and N5m
The 26-year-old Big Brother Naija 2020 housemate, winner of the reality television show, Olamilekan Laycon Agbeleshe has been named by Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, as a youth ambassador.
A gift of three bedroom bungalows and N5 million for him was also declared by the governor.
He made the announcement in Abeokuta, the capital of the state, when he hosted the winner of the reality show at the Governor’s Executive Chamber in the capital of the state.
I congratulate you once again, and on this note, I hereby appoint you as the Youth Ambassador of the State of Ogun. I look forward to working with you to be a model of good conduct, of competence, of good virtues, of calmness, of honesty, of the general characteristics of the State of Ogun, and of your homestead, Odeda.
We trust that you can help encourage our teenagers to channel their talents, among other negative patterns, into positive engagements and shun vices such as stealing, substance abuse, cultism, advanced fee evasion, cybercrimes and kidnapping, “the governor announced.”
While congratulating Agbeleshe, who is a native of the state’s Odeda local government area, the governor vowed that an entertainment village is being contemplated in the state and beyond to nurture budding talents.
“On behalf of the Government and good people of Ogun State, I join your fans across the world to welcome you to your Home State.
“I would also like to congratulate you on your performance in the Year 2020 Big Brother Naija Lockdown Version after 71 days as a housemate.”
The governor said that while in the Big Brother Naija House, young Nigerians will benefit from Laycon ‘s demeanor based on how he interacts well with the other 19 housemates from various backgrounds.
Governor Abiodun also praised Laycon, who said, “demonstrated the component of Omoluabi that is the primary ingredient of a Nigerian born in Ogun State.” I am proud that you came out unscathed and uninvolved in any controversy or unethical act, considering all of the odds, temptations, and provocations in the Building.
You have also shown that your academic achievement at the University of Lagos was won by the way you conducted your assigned tasks in the House with behavior; intellectual answers to questions and; your spirit of fair play. This has also shown that our universities can and still produce graduates who, in character and good learning, are considered worthy.
